Me! I love them! 8 week appointment you'll meet with a nurse and they'll go over any question you may have, tell you what you can and can't eat and basically ask you questions to set your chart up. You'll have blood drawn, pee in a cup and have blood pressure taken. My DH came to my 8 week appointment with DS and they gave him a first dad's book.
CONGRATS!

awesome. i cant wait for the appt. it seems like it is taking forever to get to 8 weeks. i really like alliance too. did they give you an u/s at your 8 week appt?
No ultrasound at 8 week. At the 12 week they listened for the heartbeat and had a pap. Unless you are getting the NT scan, (which I didn't) I don't think you normally get an u/s until 20 weeks. At least I didnt.
Who is your main doctor?

good the nurse just called back and my beta level was over 8,000 so she said that is great and i dont need to go back tomorrow. So relived. thanks for asking.
Cramping is not too unusual early on. I had cramping off and on for a couple of weeks......and the bloat! Yuck.
8 weeks is just with the NP and in an office, sitting at a desk and talking. No U/S. I had bloodwork, pee in a cup, tb skin test, flu shot (it was flu season). Lots of talking and basically an "intake" appointment.
I had a quick U/S at 12 weeks because they couldn't find the HB on the doppler (not unusual). The portable machine was there so they did a quick look see. Most do not get an U/S until 20 weeks.
I do. Of course DH can go!! My hubby used to go to all of mine (we even brought the kids sometimes... there's a nice play area.) until I was havings longer appts with the twins : )
