Moms of toddler girls -- hair question

What are you doing with LO's bangs?

I got Ava's "baby mullet" cut off in December, and now her hair has grown into the most adorable little layered bob (I'm envious, lol).  But, her bangs are SO long and hang in her face.  I don't really want her to have bangs (definitely not the ones cut straight across her forehead).  Do I have them trimmed kinda long and side-swept?   Or do I just leave them alone until they grow out completely?

Re: Moms of toddler girls -- hair question

  • Maddy's first haircut, she got a trim everywhere...her last cut, was just a simple trim of her bangs, we kept them a little longer like you say, and sidesweep them. She is due for a trim of them again, and I may try to do them myself. I love the middle picture of Ava's hair that you have....soooo cute!

  • Ugh, I am dealing the the same thing right now! I am choosing to not cut them one mm, instead we are sidesweeping them and keeping them in place using little barrettes (it's now long enough to use bobby pins too). It seems like they're growing pretty fast and I hope the process speeds up b/c it's annoying her (and me)!
  • We are now pulling Ella's back into her pigtail(s) with the rest of her hair.  They are almost grown out completely.  There was a time that I was just going to cut her bangs, but she looks so cute without them that I decided to leave them.

  • Megan isn't a toddler, but she's got quite a bit of hair.  We will not be cutting her bangs as they grow out.  Clips, barrettes, etc, will be our friends.  It was the summer before I started kindergarten before I got my first haircut.  I picture Megan with beautiful long hair that I can braid and put into buns some day.  ;)

  • My DD's bangs are long and side swept - she's got kind of straight hair in the front but it's short and super curly in the back - I love it - I wish it would stay like that!
  • Thanks, everyone!  I'm going to try putting her "bangs" in her pigtails tomorrow to see how she looks with them pulled back.  Otherwise, I guess it is barrette city!
