Hi Ladies!
My husband is a Twin Cities native and we're relocating to your neck of the woods next month. I am so nervous! But I have always loved it there when we visit so I'm also excited. Just wanted to pop in and say hello. We have a 5 month old little boy.
Also, since we're getting close to summer, anybody have any recommendations for mom and baby swim classes? We're going to be staying in Arden Hills for the first 6 months or so, so anything nearby would be great (I'll have a car). I'm a SAHM so I want to get out as quickly as possible and maybe meet some people.... moving to the suburbs and not knowing anybody is a little scary!
Thanks!
Re: Relocating to the Twin Cities
Shoreview community center offers baby swim classes. That would be very close for you. Otherwise there is a YMCA in Shoreview also.
There are tons of walking paths and parks in the area. Como zoo is close by (and free!) I grew up/live in the Shoreview/Arden Hills area, so if there's anything you have questions on, I'd be glad to help.
Welcome to the TC. As far as swim classes, check out the St. Anthony High School pool. I know they have classes, but am not sure if they have mom and baby classes.
Not super close to Arden Hills, but lots of the Minneapolis parks have wading pools. The depth is great for little ones to splash around. And they're free! I like

but there are lots of others:

Thanks everybody!!! And thanks for the FREE suggestions, haha. I am definitely looking to keep things cheap but fun!
I'm really excited to move - the anticipation is building and I really feel at home there. I hope everything goes smoothly!
Roseville also has a free outdoor wading pool (close to County Road C and Snelling) that would be closer for you than Minneapolis.
Also, being in Arden Hills you will have access to several area lakes with beaches.
Welcome to the area!
