3rd Trimester

I will not be sleeping with DH anymore!

I am so tempted not to sleep in my bed anymore!! Waking up every hour to either my hip in pain, or my shoulders in pain is just not fun. I am so much more comfortable in my recliner chair.

Would it be bad of me if i made this my bed for the next 6 and a half weeks?

  • Nope, go for it!  I've moved out to the recliner more than once in the middle of the night!

  • I say whatever makes you comfortable so you can get rest.  Your body needs it and I'm sure he will understand.

  • If you're more comfortable that way, why not?

  • Ha, DH and I haven't slept together in weeks.  I wake enough on my own without his snoring to help.  He moved into the guest room and we've both been much happier.  He said he likes sleeping without me kicking him 3x a night.

  • For the past few weeks, I sleep in our bed for like 2 nights and on the couch for a few nights. I rotate it, it helps my back. Not to mention, DH prefers to fall asleep with the TV off and lately I really need it on because Im taking forever to fall asleep. So unless Im crazy tired, I tend to crash in the living room so I can just relax til I pass out! So sleep where you wanna sleep!

  • DH and I have not slept together in months (even when traveling we get two beds  - if ds is not with us we sleep seperately). We have a queen size bed and I sleep with 4 pillows, so there is no room for him. He sleeps in the guest room. Once baby is born, he will be back in our bed.
  • I feel bad for my DH because of my constant tossing and turning.  I have to wake up to turn to the other side every hour or two.  The turning involves lots of grunting and bed shaking.  My DH wakes up and looks at me with a smirk on his face laughing at how hard it is for me to do something that most do without thinking.  I know he can't be getting any sleep either.

  • really sounds like you need to see a chiropractor for your hip and shoulder pain.  Just a suggestion.  I work at one and he really helps pregnant women with that kind of stuff.

Oh and I don't think it would be a bad thing if you didn't sleep in the bed anymore.  You need to be comfortable and get as much sleep as you can now, cause when LO comes, there's no sleeping in the beginning. lol  (I just had my LO on Sunday).

  • I sleep in the guest room!  I say sleep where ever you can get comfy!

  • I spent the last 4-5 weeks of my pregnancy with DD sleeping in the living room going between the recliner, floor and couch.  Our bed was too soft to sleep in and I was so uncomfortable.  He understood.

Sleep where you can get comfy.

  • I started sleeping on the couch, cuz it's softer, so I can lay slightly over on my stomach, instead of flat on my hip.  DH and DD have been sleeping on a pallet of blankets on the floor in front of the couch.  It's so cute!
  • I just started sleeping on the couch this week after my husband pointed out that I always napped so well on it and wasn't getting good sleep in our bed anymore. I've gotten the best rest I've had in a long time this week since I've been on the couch. My husband moved to our guest bedroom so he doesn't have to have our queen-sized bed to himself. But we both admit we're sleeping better this way for now.

  • Well, not that I sleep with my husband regularly anyways (he works nights) but I have totally been sleeping on the couch for a looong while already.  Much more comfy than our bed!

  • you wouldnt be the first or the last! Get the sleep you can WHEN you can WHERE you can. If I had a dime for everyone who suggested I sleep in a recliner! Like they did when they were pregnant.

I had just convinced my husband to buy a king size serta mattress  a couple of months before I left him.  He is sleeping peacefully on it now as I sleep on a twin size bargain basement mattress in a daybed in my mothers house that was purchased for the occasional overnight of my niece. If I thought the recliners in the house were any more comfy...I would try one of those. Instead I share this with my two cats. UGH!

  • I REALLY wish I could sleep on the couch... I can't leave the bed because I'm on bedrest and the bedroom is upstairs. Husband snores and my mom is staying with us until the baby is born to help with my other son... I just plug my ear buds and listen to the sound of rain on my iphone. Or I watch hulu on my computer...
  • Lately I have been sleeping on a twin bed in the nursery because its firmer and I don't wake up with rib pains in there.
  • I've slept on the couch a couple of nights and had the best sleep! You should do it you need your rest!
