the Couch to 5K program? I just started it today and I am wondering how true it is and experiences. I am really hoping it works well! I really want to lose some weight so that the RE won't be able to use weight as an excuse for anything.

Re: NIFR: has anyone done...
I printed it out and well um... that's as far as I've got.
I'd like to hear if anyone has any experience with it too.
Good luck! What did you think of your first night?

I really enjoyed it actually! I am not a runner (yet! I intend to be!), but alternating between running and walking gave me the boost I needed for my first time instead of just jumping into running, or just walking and praying I had the endurance to eventually run. I just had no idea what to do to start, and this is a perfect way to get me to start! I find myself wishing right now that I could go on another workout, but it is dark.
If you have an Ipod its really worth it to download the podcast. They are free. They are great because the guy tells you when to walk and when to run. It is set to music (NMS but its better then nothing). I really like that during you 2nd 3 min run he comes on and tells you "Only 1 min left you can do it".
I have been mostly doing it indoors on a treadmill. Last week I decided to take it outside and I was almost crushed by how much harder it is to run outside. So I have decided to do the program 3x a week at the gym. Then add 1 extra day outside doing whatever I am capable of doing and not stressing about it.
That is a great idea! I am very nervous about running outside.
I don't have an Ipod but I have a blackberry. I wonder if it has an app for it. I'll have to look. I was just judging by my time today.
I was in tears after that morning thinking I bit off more then I can chew. Then I realized how hard I was being on myself. At least I have finally gotten my but off my couch and am doing something.
My moms friend and I talk almost every day on FB about how its going. She has RA and is 11 years older then me. So I figure if she can do it so can I.
I was just checking my sponsors for the ACS Bark For Life and realized my DH sponsored me tonight....His message was really sweet. It said " To my wife good luck and great job! I am proud of you, did not think you would follow it through".
Aw that is sweet!
I need to start looking for some 5K's to run in the fall.
You should start and we can check in on each other to see how we are doing since I only have 1 workout down. I am doing another today (hopefully in a few minutes).
That would be awesome! But I won't be able to start until tomorrow earliest. At least I have all the gear, er, shoes and clothing... I'd be game for a weekly check in too.
Wow, what motivation I'm getting from you all!
