So dd has entered that queen of question phase. SHe has questions about everything, and questions everything e tell her.
Last night she was on the birhtday/age thing. How old is daddy? How old is R? How old are you? So I say I am 44. SS gets a shocked look. He told me he thought I was like 34, and his dad was older than me. He also told me that my younger brothers look a lot older than me.
Not that a 13 year old knows alot about age, but it was still nice to hear it from someone!!
Re: Stepson gave me an ego boost last night
aww sweet and smart!
and B is so in that stage too and when I do answer I get a "how you know"
DH talked to him before I got home from work that day. Basically he went into his room, removed the batteries from his game controllers and told him that we knew he lied, he was lucky I saved his ass with the principal because he would have thrown him under the bus. And he would get the battery packs back when he felt he had learned his lesson, as well as computer privileges. He let him calm down a bit then talked to him about it. He did apologize to both of us.
Unfortunately he hasn't figured out yet that I am like a detective. I was able to ask him a bunch of questions and he never realized he was telling me the real reason he stayed home. He said he fell back to sleep and missed the bus, and he lied because he didn't want to get in trouble. But since I now know that all the kids he plays that damn game with on line live in NJ and had April vacation this week, he turned himself in for skipping on purpose.
He is on vacation next week. He is going to freak when he realizes he isn't getting that game back until vacation is over. But I think he learned.
Sounds like you guys handled it well!
Ugh, my little brother lives on those stupid online game things too. Its so annoying.
