The name Oliver...

I was wondering about the popularity of Oliver.... It hasn'y been super popular in the past, but I worry that it is going to be REALLY popular this year! Any thoughts? Does anyone know many little boys named Oliver?

I know a lot of pets named Oliver so it wouldn't work for me but aside from that association I think it's lovely! However, all I personally think about is my in laws' antisocial super-wussy, super fussy Persian cat.

I only know someone my age named Oliver - no little boys. I had to chime in that I LOVE that name and the nickname Olie - its adorable!

We were going to use the name oliver, but decided against it for that reason... but i still love it! i dont think it is going to be popular for a few more years, but i think it is definitely trendy now. its the name that catalogs like pottery barn baby are using on all their fake merchandise in the catalogs. so i doubt there will be tons of olivers in his class at school at this rate, but there may be a few years under him! i still love it though! it was our final two, oliver or ezra.

We were going to name our LO "Oliver" if she had been a he. Very cute name. It has been raising in popularity, but I'm not sure if it will ever become as trendy as some of the others {Aidan, etc.} You can check the social security website for exact numbers.

I adore Oliver, but DH wasn't on board with it if we were having a boy. He said it sounds like a boy who would be given wedgies all the time at school. lol
