DD has finally outgrown the PNP changing table, now what?

We have the PNP in our family room to change DD and still get her ready for bed there but she is now too big for the changing table.  What did you do?  I'm not really wanting to change her on the floor.

She is too big for a changing table?  My has she grown!

F is changed everytime on the changing table.  Too much of a chance for a wandering baby if I changed her on the floor.  Is there an extra long changing pad you could get for your changing table?

  • We've always used our bed for diaper and clothes changing.
  • I'm no help. I always use the floor.

  • I think she means she has outgrown the PNP changing table (which is significantly smaller than a "normal" one).  When we stopped using the PNP changing table, I bought a changing pad and we put it on our dresser in our room, and bought one of those small portable caddies, and we keep diapers and wipes by the changing pad.

Do you have a table in the family room?  Or a place you could stash the changing pad?  If so, you may just buy one for that room, stash it when you aren't using it, and bring it out when you are.  Then you could change her anywhere - on a coffee table, couch, etc.

Ah...I was super confused.  Do you not have a changing table?

ditto this, except we put it on dd's dresser. we keep the wipes and stuff on the top of her dresser and diapers in one of her small drawers.

Up in her bedroom we do but for diaper changes during the day I don't want to have to go up stairs every time.

We normally only have to change her at nap time, so it works out that we are upstairs anyhow.  Even back when she was being changed a million times a day, I just went upstairs since that is where the diaper pail is and stuff.  Think of it as a mini-workout =)

  • we bought a changing table on craiglist that was a bare bones kind of thing..  and we used that downstairs.
  • i have a folding pad that i can throw down anywhere i need to change him. a towel on the bed works in a pinch, or even a towel on the floor if you don't want to change her on the rug.
