How to keep mice out of PNP - lol - seriously though

We are going to Yellowstone National Park for Mother's Day and staying at Old Faithful Lodge. Lovely place, but there are mice. Obviously I don't want any in dd's pnp where she will be sleeping while we are there, so I plan on making a cover for it.

Any ideas? Tips? Whatever Smile

  • keep it away from the walls since mice like to run around the walls.

we had mice in our apt. a few weeks ago. we still might, who knows. i doubt they will want to go in the PNP if there's no food in there, since they look for food.

Definitely no food, but I'm paranoid all the same.

Someone is a genious!! Thank you!!

  • i agree about keeping the pnp away from walls. a cover won't make any difference at all, mice can crawl through cracks as small as 10 sheets of paper thick. as long as there is no food in there that they can smell, they shouldn't have any reason to go in there.

yeah, i was freaking out too. we only found evidence of mice near food - especially near the dog's food bowls.

they like to gnaw on fabric/fibrous things, so they might try to eat any sort of net... if they are trying to make a nest.

i researched all about mice when we saw the first one and i am thoroughly freaked out of them. they can climb walls and jump 13 inches! :( terrible, terrible creatures! are you sure this place has mice?

ETA: they can get through anything that's 1/4 of an inch thick too.

Yes I'm sure. Dh and I celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary at YNP and had a mouse scurring around in our room every night we were there. Even with our food bag closed up.

    I'm totally freaking out now.

ah, that's awful! the pest control guy told me that if you see a mouse, that means it has a family, b/c most don't come out around people.

maybe bring along a glue trap or two? those always caught the mice for us.

  • I concur with PP about bringing a trap or two.

Also, I don't know for sure, but I've heard and know people who swear by keeping a Bounce dryer sheet in their campers while in storage for the Winter and they've never had any mice in them.  Maybe you can shove some of those under the PNP matress?

Never heard of that, but I'm willing to try anything!

This. And I would make sure to wipe LO's face clean before bed and naps, just to be sure food crumbs and formula or BM were off her.
