DH has grand jury duty on Monday....

They just called the house and left a VM as a reminder. I listened to the message and it's for the US District court. DH and I thought it was for our local city. That's big stuff! Grand juries convene to determine if there is enough evidence to press charges right?

    yep, and usually it is a long stint.  like 6 months or something - at least around here.

    i just looked it up in VA, and it seems they do it very different. didn't mean to scare you.  sowwwy.

    i just re-read your post about it being the district court.  you may want to call to verify, because it looks like it is a year long term.

    How interesting!  Maybe I am just a nerd, but I think it would be very fascinating to be part of a jury.  I have never been called for jury duty.

    LOL.  i think so too.

    well, i did.  when i had to serve, there were two cases.

    1. embezzlement - something  i could get in to (the guy skipped bail though)

    and

    2. a grandfather that molested his grandson.  i have never been more relieved in my life when they said he had reached a plea deal.  the little details we had to hear when the judge accepted the plea made me sick to my stomach.

    I think it's interesting too but we aren't too happy that he may be missing out on his income for those days he will have to serve :(

    majors31-I'm in SE VA and I did find the website for that. It does say up to 12 mos. We'll see what happens when he reports on Monday. Thank you so much for the info, otherwise I would not have even thought to look. I really though it was just a one day thing!
