So yesterday I went out to do some shopping with DD. We were in Baby Gap. DD was squaking/talking in her stroller, not crying at all. This lady that we stroll by turns around after hearing DD making noises and sticks her hand in the stroller to stroke DD face, and says, "don't cry, don't cry," over and over in this TERRIBLE baby voice. She didn't even acknowledge me, say hello, or even look at me. Her face was crammed so far into the stroller that I couldn't even get a look at her face. Of course, then DD starts crying, but I don't blame her. This went on for well over a minute. I was SO angry, but I am not confrontational, so I couldn't bring myself to say anything. Who does this? If you see a mother with a baby, it is fine to make small talk with the mom, ask about the baby etc. BUT DO NOT TOUCH MY BABY WITHOUT ASKING ME!!!!!!! Has this happened to anyone else? What would you have done?
TIA

Yeah...I wish I would have said something! It is really bothering me still!

No stranger has ever presumed to touch my LO. If it had been me I would have pulled the stroller back and asked her what the hell she thought she was doing. Unwanted touching amounts to assault and I would have told her that and if she didn't me calling the police I would suggest she get away from my child and think twice in the future before touching another person's child.
Some people need to learn the hard way.
I can relate...I work in a lab testing blood samples for a blood bank...my coworkers wanted me to bring her in. I made sure I did at the beginning of the shift before anyone had stepped foot in the lab and made everyone sanitize before holding her.
Umm can I just say that I love you? Great response and I might use it if someone ever touches my child.

Where Im from - in the Mexican culture it's considered "bad luck" if they dont touch your baby - like saying your baby isnt cute or something odd like that.. but when they come up to touch "mija" i tell them I dont believe in that!! and walk away..
FWIW - i married a mexican so i have nothing against the culture!!!
Oh wow....I'm in 3rd tri and I have to deal with people right now who insist on touching my belly. I can't imagine what a total b!tch I'm going to be when they try to touch my baby with their grubby hands...it won't be pretty.
