hoo-yah AND hoo-rah... we get the best of both worlds!
My hubby just left this morning for some week long pre-deployment training with his Marines on the USS New York (the ship built out of the World Trade Center steel) and he is pretty excited.

I cannot tell you what a euphoric feeling it is when your man has served and is now home for good!
I am an Army wife as well! DH is just about to hit his two year mark, which means we have at least two years left, but I am definitely still a newbie when it comes to being a military wife!
I'm not a military wife or mom but I just wanted to say wow I seriously don't know how you guys do it! You guys must all be such strong women! Those men are so lucky to have wives like you guys to be so strong and be able to hold everything at home together while they are away! I personally dont think I would be able to do what you guys do. Your all true inspirations to women everywhere! Thank you for having such strong willed men to defend America...I'm not American I'm Canadian but your families are in my thoughts and prayers. Thank you to your families for everything you have done and everything you have given up. I know I truely appreciate it.
I am! I am in Portsmouth, and my husband is in Elizabeth City. Are ya'll in Alaska? We transfered here from Kodiak.
We are in Kodiak!!! When did you transfer? We transferred here in 2008 from Cape Cod. Where did you work while here? My husband is at the airstation on the 60's. Are you liking VA?
We transfered here in 2008! We just missed each other. My husband is on 60's as well, and I was stationed at the MWR while I was there. It was such an easy job. Now I am back in the real Coast Guard doing work. My husband is an AET1, and I'm a YN2. What is your husband? We like Virginia, but are hoping to go to Clearwater, FL next. I bet we know some of the same people! How do you like Kodiak?

It's a small CG isn't it? We probably do!! Mine is an AMT2. We are really liking Kodiak a lot although this winter has been tough. Can't wait for the sunshine again! Nothing beats summers here!! We know a couple of people that have been to Clearwater and loved it! Hoping for Astoria or if they open Traverse City to 60's next!!

It is small. I really liked Kodiak as well! I have to say that I am loving summer's here though. I would love to go to Traverse City! Hopefully they make the change to 60's this summer. There is tons of snowboarding there! Are ya'll up for transfer in 2011?
I'm not a military wife either, but my BIL is in the Navy. I very much appreciate the sacrifice each and everyone of you and your DH's make so that the rest of us can live the way we do. Thank you to you all and your DH's.
