What's the deal with baby aspirin (or NSAIDs)? Why are they prescribed for IFers?

What type of IF patient takes them and what is the benefit?

  • I think that they are mostly for people who have blood clotting disorders? It helps to thin your blood to help the blood flow to your uterus. Not 100% sure? I also think anyone could take it or try and see if it helps?

  • It thins the blood.  I think it is used to prevent clots that could lead to miscarriage. It is given to women with known clotting disorders, those that have miscarried, and lots of time to IF patients just in case they have been getting pregnant but having early miscarriages due to clotting issues.
  • My dr is having me take them when I start stimming, but I don't have any history of miscarriage or a clotting disorder.  Perhaps it's just a general precaution (one of those "it doesn't hurt but it might help" things).
