We don't have any family in the state, so we're definitely going to need to send the baby to daycare (or I'm hoping for a nice, loving, licensed in-home provider).
When is it appropriate to start looking into different providers? I'm still feeling like it's too early, but on the other hand, I'd hate to miss out on a good opportunity because we waited too long. TIA!
Re: When did you start looking into childcare?
Aw, Dh and I are thinking of this already too. I'm hoping MIL retires by the time babies come. ::keeping fingers crossed::
What area are you in? Maybe ask about daycares in your area, and the girls here can recommend... and you can be added to the wait list, which a lot of the good daycares have already.

I'm thinking of going back to work part time, at least for a while. I think I'm going to be working mostly from home, so I can keep the baby with me and when I do have to go to the office, my mom has volunteered to help some and my DH's work has told him he can try a 4-day work week if he wants. Only down side of that is that he already drives an hour each way, so a 10-hour day would turn into 12 hour days including travel and we'd see him even less. We'll see. I'm no help on the daycare though, since we're not looking for any. On the other hand... if going back to work doesn't work out for me, I could watch your baby too!
