Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Why is buying a new stroller SO hard??? Please help!!

Seriously - I can't make up my mind.

My criteria are - it is smaller then my travel stroller.

More importantly it is able to go on gravel and handle curbs better than my Piece of crap.  (I do stroller pilates twice a week too, so need a nicer stroller for that)

I don't want an umbrella

It would be a bonus if K could face me.

I am looking at and really like the city mini - but worried about the tires not being ok for some unfinished sidewalks in our area. so maybe the elite (but that is near $400!  which is pretty high for me)

I also looked at the Kolcraft contours 3 wheel.  But folded down it is still kinda a beast, and Kellan is already at the top of it..

I looked at Baby Trend Jogger Expedition - but am not in love with it,.

Is there something I am missing?

I also don't really want to spend an arm and a leg if in two years we will need a double stroller.  I looked at the city select for this reason which is pricier but we wouldn't have to buy another later - but the wait on that is til the end of May (maybe later) and I would like something sooner.... Not a fan of Phil and Ted Sport..

Any thoughts please?

  • I'm impressed with the way our City Mini handles with plastic tires.  I love it.

  • My only legitimate input is to NOT GET THE BABY TREND STROLLER no matter how much the price is nicer than the rest!!

Is it okay on gravel too?  Or grass?

  • Haven't tried the City Mini on gravel, but grass it's ok. The handle isn't my favorite.  I am short, so it's kind of at an awkward height.  I wish it adjusted and wasn't rounded.

Otherwise, I love the fold and lightweight design!

  • I have a city mini & it works great off road
  • We have the City Elite and have been incredibly happy with it. I live in the city, and it handles tough, beat-up sidewalks, cobblestone street, and the woods great!

One issue is it feels kind of wide. I constantly underestimate the size when going through doorways, and will often hit the side.

Does the Elite fold the same as the mini?  Is it a pretty compact fold too?
