How long would you let your little "play" or fall alseep in bed. SOme nights I lay my LO down for bed and he rolls around, stands, plays in bed for a few minutes but it has been going on for 40 minutes tonight. He hasn't cried or even made a peep, he looks content on his monitor. should I go inand rock him to sleep. FYI it is now 50 min past bedtime and he was fussy before I put him in his crib.
TIA
oh and how long would you let lo do this in the morning if he is't crying and seems content?
Re: how long would you...
Sometimes DS does this at bedtime. I usually let him go about 10 minutes before I go rock him for 5, and he's out. I don't want him going to sleep later and later, kwim? Probably creating bad habits, but I don't care.
I love it when he's content in the AM, because I can shower and get ready knowing he's happy and safe in his crib.
If he isn't upset, I wouldn't bother him. Same goes for the morning; let him hang out until he fusses.
I wouldn't rock him to sleep at night at all if he wasn't fussing/crying. If he began to fuss/cry then I'd go in, and do our usual rocking with a few songs/paci/blankie then lay him back down and hope he falls asleep at that point.
I would let him do it in the morning until I decided I wanted to go in and play with him. If I have a few things to do around the house and he's content to play on his own I let him be and get that stuff done so that I can spend the rest of the day with him. It never lasts more than a short while for us, though. I wish he liked being left alone more often.
