Stay at Home Moms

Awesome comment to DH from a pg friend of ours ;)

One of Dave's co-workers wives is pg and due in July (1st pregnancy). She works FT. She knows that I SAH. I think she might have forgotten that I SAH and who she was talking too at the moment...

DH: "Are you planning on going back to work FT after LO arrives?"

Friend: "Yeah, I get 3 months paid maternity leave but then plan on going back FT. There is no way I could sit at home on my a** all day"

Dave told me even he wanted to say something nasty back, but bit his tongue and couldn't wait to tell me what she said. These 2 have no idea what they are in for, LOL.

I hope she enjoys sitting on her a** for her 3 months of maternity leave ;)  Bawahahahahahahahaha!!

  • I have to say...

When I worked full-time, I had the idea that SAHM's basically had a great (easy) life.  Please don't flame for that - My Mother wasn't a SAHM and I really didn't know any SAHM's so it was just sheer ignorance.

I was so wrong.  I LOVE it and wouldn't want it any other way, but I was so, so wrong.

I know this now when I do go into the office and it feels like a freakin' vacation.  (I still start to miss DS, though...)

  • This one pregnant friend that we had over for lunch was looking around and saw that I had gone crazy with a label maker. She said she was wondering what she was going to do with 3 whole months of maternity leave cause it seemed like it might get boring. I just laughed and said "oh no no. All of this organizing happened before ds was born. Believe me, you'll have plenty going on. "

I always laugh at the comments about 'I think I'll be bored - what am I going to do all day' .... haha.

I guess it all depends though on what role you see for yourself. I mean, if you don't plan to 'run the house' and you have a good sleeper - there could be a lot of good ass sitting going on haha.

  • Too funny.

  • Before I became a SAHM I was under the impression that there was a lot of "a** sitting." Boy was I wrong!! She's in for a wakeup call just like I was.
  • Maybe she will just sit all the time when she's with her kids...in front of the TV. I mean I will say, my life is easier and more enjoyable since I started staying home, but sitting around all day is not what I am doing.
