baby's hair falling out - ?s

My girls' hair is changing colors (getting lighter) are they are going bald in spots.  This picture kind of shows what I am talking about.

If your baby lost his/her hair, how long did it take for the new hair to come in?  Did they go totally bald, or keep the fuller ring around the back?  Did it come back in a new color?

    Penny's hair fell out everywhere except in the back, the "fringe".  It is coming in lighter color and thicker now allover.

    Reed's fell out right away all over, including the fringe.  He grew blond baby hair with curls and all that.  Now at 20 months he has "real hair" in a sandy blond color.

    Aaron's baby hair all fell out, it was really dark.  It started to come back a medium brown around 11-12 months.  He still is missing some on the sides of his head, which is odd.  But it's starting to come in thinker.

    DS was born with long clumps of hair in the back. That fell out and has yet to return, starting to get more fuzz now. The top of his head started out really light but not much of it at all. So I am not sure if it fell out or not, but it is getting thicker now - slowly.
    A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
    After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
    My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

    DS hair thinned out considerably around 3.5 months, he never fully went bald but it was quite thin.  It grew back in sandy blond with the exception of one spot that it grew in dark brown due to the birth mark on his skull.

    DS didn't lose hair,b ut his head stretched hair as it grew and it made his hair stretch out.  it started growing in more after 5 -7 m, can't remember.

    Not that I have any experience with this, but I know MANY babies that are born with dark hair that all falls out and turns blond.

    Lyla's hair fell out TWICE!  the 1st time it came back the same color and still a little curly (we called her fuzz, because it made a baby poof when she gets out of the tub).  The 2nd time it fell out it came back straighter and a little lighter.. it is still brown just with some blonde and red.

    We joke that her body was rejecting DH's hair - since it is so curly and thick.

    Sam was born with dark hair that started falling out around 3 weeks.  He also kept the monk cut (fringe all around).  The hair started growing back pretty quickly, and is a light brown color. I suspect he'll be a dark blond guy.  It is definitely coming in but not fast enough to cover his cradle cap  :(

    My little one was born with a lot of dark dark hair but it fell out and is definitely comingin lighter and a different texture.  I think that is very common.
