QOTD: stick with the GD diet-- no probably not, but hopefully some of it will carry over. I'd like to cut back on the amount of sweets I eat and I'd like to watch the amount of carbs I eat since I now know it's possible to go without these things. I might be the only one, but I afraid I'll gain weight after giving birth because I want to eat so many things that I haven't been able to eat. I'm really hoping I can control my cravings. At least breastfeeding will help. I had to have a lot of calories while breastfeeding ds and keep my supply up so I'm sure it'll be similar this time.
Menu: nope, none at all. I was too afraid to try them in the beginning and now I'm so close that I don't want to experiment. Plus my numbers have been rising and I can't even have sugar free cookies anymore so trying any real sugar seems like a bad idea.

QOTD: Like the PP, I will stick with some of it, like the smaller meals and snacks and being much more aware of how many carbs are in certain foods, but I know I'm going back to things like pizza.
Menu: Yes, periodically I will have a Ghiradelli chocolate square. And my "menu" was not a menu at all but mostly guidelines about how many carbs to eat. I've been eating ice cream for my evening snack, which they have said is fine. But, since my numbers are starting to creep up, I think I'm going to have to watch what I'm eating a little more closely for the last couple of weeks (and just look forward to that margarita if LO comes on or before 5/5!).
QOTD: I think I will maintain the awareness, but I don't know that I will strictly follow the diet. I will definitely be eating less ethnic food though, since those have proven to spike my numbers consistently. Hopefully more cooking at home too. Fingers crossed though, as far as losing weight goes, I'm on track to be skinnier post pregnancy than I was before!
Menu: Yes I've definitely cheated with little to no negative effect. I'm getting a little too naughty though and need to start pulling myself back in again. Just because it doesn't show up on my numbers, doesn't mean it is a good idea!

QOTD: I can not wait for the day when I don't look at peanut butter and eggs:) I probably won't follow it at all. I have no issue with holding onto 10 lbs till I am done BFing. That is what I did with DS and it fell right off once I was done BFing.
Menu: I have had a piece of dove chocolate 2 times after dinner. One time with success and the other without. Same dinner.
QOTD-I'm going to try. As much as I hate having "the GD", I do feel better probably in large part because I'm eating better. It will be nice to be able to have the occaisonal bagel or giant pasta dish without having to think twice though! Hopefully I can balance the diet with a few indulgences here and there.
Menu-You bet!! I would be one miserable biotch if I couldn't have a little something sweet every day. Everything in moderation though. I always stick to my carb limits, and make sure I exercise after. I have found that it doesn't seem to be the sweets for me, it's more of the breads and pastas that result in higher numbers.

I've been eating ice cream at night too, and my fasting numbers in the morning were acceptable, but not stellar. Purely by coincidence on Sunday I also had a serving of almonds along with my ice cream, and my fasting numbers dropped by 10-12 points! Try adding a little protein if your fasting numbers are creeping up. It's been working for me for the last week.

I have had a few sweets, but usually paired with my snack or after dinner. When I have ice cream it's dark chocolate and I add peanut butter. Doesn't really mess with my numbers.
QOTD: I have learned so much on this diet about balancing carbs and protein. I may go back to it to lose weight however not to the extreme that I have had to maintain.
Menu: I eat a square or two of super dark chocolate each day as a treat. It hasn't troubled my numbers.
Update: I am being induced this evening, otherwise I would pick up the thread. I hope it continues, it always helped me

I am really hoping to drop a ton of weight after LO arrives. I still have a chance of developing type 2 diabetes so I think it would be a great step in the right direction. I am a lot more aware of what goes into my body.
Menu: Are you eating a fewsweets? A Hershey kiss here and there? I have had some off brand of peanut butter cups and some carb smart ice cream bars but none of which have affected my BS.

QOTD: Man I'd like to say I will...but I doubt it. I will try at least to incorporate some of what I've learned (eating veggies and protein w/ my carbs) so that I can stay healthy, and I also know I need to lose weight so that I don't come out with Type 2.
MenU: Oh yeah...and like PP said I'm getting a little too naughty and need to back away from Easter candy. Bad mama! However eating sweets for my snacks hasn't affected my #s at all so I guess it's been ok, just don't want to get too crazy.
