Anyone else miserable at night only?

I am relatively okay during the day, but during the night/while I'm sleeping I am absolutely miserable.  My stomach is constantly rock hard and it's painful when I have to get up and use the bathroom (which is every two hours now, yay).  The pain is in my stomach, on my sides, back, etc.  Rolling from side to side makes me out of breath and on the verge of tears too...

Then I get up and get moving for the day and within a few hours I seem to be feeling better.

What's up with that?  Anyone else?

  • Yep - me too.  I haven't slept more than 2 or 3 hours a night for a while now.  I'm so utterly exhausted.  Thank goodness tomorrow is the big day!

  • YES!  I have tons of BH during the day that don't hurt, jsut makes my tummy hard....but at night when I am sleeping I get very painful ones and back pain.....I also feel way better once I am up and moving....I think it's weird that when we are most relaxed it hurts worse, but reading some of the birth stories people do say in labor they felt better up and about...so I suppose it is the same for the practice contractions and such?!

  • Same here. I swell up more at night and start to feel all the little aches and pains. I think I just finally notice all the strain my body is under once I slow down and start to relax. Once I get into bed, forget being comfortable.  But, I'm very glad I feel alright during the day!
  • I am exactly the same way!! Very uncomfortable can sleep an hour or 2 the most at a time. In pain from the second I lay down till the moment I get get up! Glad to hear I am not alone in this!
  • I dread night time!! I told DH that I might spend the rest of the pregnancy on the recliner at night. My hip falls asleep, it takes me atleast 5 minutes to switch positions. I get up to pee all too often, and takes me 5 minutes to get out of bed. It really sucks. I hate night time.

  • At this point I feel miserable during the day too. However, nights are the worst. I too am only getting a few hours sleep, whatever side I lay on - the pain of my hip wakes me up. I'm going to have to start sleeping in the sofa recliner which does not go back very far. I dread going to bed at night.

Unfortunately ladies it may get worse for you. I think this is nature's way of preparing you for sleepless nights AND believe me, when you get to the end, you are ready to deliver just so you won't have this pain. I didn't think I would be one who would be ready to deliver a week or two early, but I'm sooooo ready. And it's primarily due to my night problems.

  • YES i almost look forward to daylight now!!

  • Honestly it's not the lack of sleep that is bothering me, it's the pain!

Sure it's a hassle to get up every two hours to pee, but I usually get back to sleep afterwards.  It's just the insane pain and uncomfortable movements I have to go through to get up, go to the bathroom, and get back into bed.

I always looked forward to laying down at the end of the day, not so much anymore :(

  • I just told my husband last week that going to bed used to be my favorite time of day and now it's the worst.  My pelvis aches so badly that turning over, getting up to go potty and even moving makes me want to cry.  The doctor says the aching is from bones spreading and shifting to get ready for labor.  I also think that if you are normally a smaller girl it hurts worse...just my own thought.
  • It is the pain for me as well. I've adapted to having only a few hours sleep each night. The hip pain wakes me from sleep. When I turn over, I feel like her head stays in place (she is down), but I think her torso and legs flip flop to the left or right depending on how I'm laying.

When I get up I have to almost roll of the bed or sofa because using stomach muscles at all hurt. I try to think that it's probably uncomfortable for her too so I shouldn't complain. But I know what you mean about looking forward to just laying down, and yea, it just hurts now.
