Thoughts on Clomid?

I have a Dr. appointment next week to talk about going on Clomid... Any opinions, stories, etc... regarding it??

I am on my 3rd cycle of it. My first cycle I ovulated and got a BFP. It unfortunately ended in MC. I had hot flashes and headaches as my main side effects and they werent too bad. Also, it is very cheap. $9 at Walmart. GL

I just took it and finished my last pill 6 days ago (took it CD 5-9 50 mg). I have PCOS. I did not have the hot flashes or other side effects that are more "common". Although, it did make me nauseous and I threw up one of the days. But, thats gone now!
Anyway, I am waiting to ovulate-charting my temps. Some people get a test for their progesterone around CD 20 to see if they ovulated.
What infertility issues do you have?

oh yea, the headaches! Forgot about that. Was only like 3 days though. Also, got it at Walmart too, not expensive.

I have a very irregular period. They put me on Prevara, which did induce a light period... But that was about 2 months ago and have nothing since then. (I did take a hpt and it came back negative.)

My only thoughts are to make sure you get all the standard b/w done and that your husband gets an SA done before going on it. Also make sure that you are closely monitored while taking it.

It's been good so far. It made me ovulate on CD21 vs CD35+, so that is good. I still ovulated 'late' though. I'm now on my 2nd round at 100mg.

I've had hot flashes and mild headaches. Nothing terrible at all though.

I took it once and awaiting b/w results to take another round of provera and clomid now.

I vomitted every night while on clomid. Sex was a little painful during cd 8 & 9 as well. Other than that I was good.

I am a bit late on this one but my mom was on it to help with TTC about 10-11 years ago. The Dr's suspects this is how she got Breast Cancer!!!!!! Make sure you are well informed about ALL side affects.

I am on my first cycle of Clomid this month. I actually took my last pill CD9 last night. I was told to have sex for the next 5 days or so and I should ovulate.:) I have had two headaches but that is about the only side effect I have had.:) GL!:)

This was my first month on it and I was miserable. I had the hot flashes very bad. I had to carry something with me at all times to fan myself. I also had a co-worker/friend tell me that she hopes I'm not on it too long because my mood swings were that bad.

I'm on my 2nd cycle of Clomid (100 mg) I ovulated and did my shots and all so tomorrow I go for blood work to check if my levels are going up. Side effects that I had were hot flashes, emotional roller coaster. Don't get discouraged if you don't ovulate the 1st time around because they only start you at 50mg and it doesn't work that low for everyone. My sis and I both have PCOS and she has two very healthy and happy boys through Clomid. Good Luck!
