Round ligament pain

Hello girlies! How is everyone???

 I have a question:

My round ligament pain has been really intense. Usually it's just pressue but all day today it's been local to my left ovary. I feel like I'm going to get my period! I lift bags at work ( I work for an airline) and no one knows I'm pregnant yet, so I've been doing so heavy lifting which seems to worsen it :

I don't want to overreact to normal pain, but when do you make the decision to go to the doctor??

 Thanks in advance, ladies :)

Re: Round ligament pain

  • I'd speak to your manager ASAP to see if they can accomodate you in another dept.  IMO you should be lifting.  I've been put on a strict 10lb limit.

  • Round ligament pain usually isn't a constant pressure.  RLP usually is a sharp pain that comes and goes with sudden movement or things like sneezing or coughing.

If the pain is localized around your ovary, it could be the corpus luteum cyst that is formed after ovulation.  This cyst is totally normal and provides progesterone until the placenta takes over that function.

However you should probably call your doctor if it's that intense to make sure.  They can ask the appropriate questions or have you come in for an ultrasound.  They can also write you an excuse if you are lifting bags that are too heavy.

Part of the reason you're on a strict 10 lb weight limit is that your ovaries are distended from your medicated cycle.

Having twins probably adds to it as your uterus is growing twice as fast.  :)

But if anyone pregnant is having pain while doing something, then it's probably too much and you should talk to your doctor.

  • I agree with TayLynn.... stop lifting and talk to your manager privately. You should not be lifting heavy baggage.
