Hi,
Just wondering if workplaces have to allow you time to pump at work once returning? Probably not, but I wasn't sure.
Also, for anyone having twins: I read that Massachusetts law states you can take 2 eight week leaves (back to back) since you technically will give birth twice. Check it out if this applies to you!
Re: any BF laws in Mass.?
I am not sure. isn't the law that you are "supposed" to get a 15m break every 4hrs? I know most people just keep working but if your boss is giving you a hard time you could bring that to their attention.
I know a lot of moms who've had to pump at work/in the car/ where ever they can. most just close their office doors and pump away. good luck! hope you have an agreeable boss b/c going all day would be torture!
oh, and I have never heard of double time off for twins. there are a lot of moms of twins on my other local board.
As of now, there are no laws regarding breastfeeding and the workplace in Massachusetts. Many women are able to pump, however, and although there are no laws protecting it I know there have been cases (in other states) where the employer refused to give (unpaid) time and a place to pump and the mom sued and a decision was made in her favor.
