I had a BFN on my 2nd IUI and i'm torn between trying the 3rd IUI or going straight to IVF. We will have to skip next month if we are doing IUI and I am so confused. Many people say that the third IUI is the charm but I just don't want to wait any longer.
Any advice?

It was our 5th IUI that worked.. we also wondered whether or not to go on to IVF after 3 IUIs - I'm glad we stuck it out since even an additional 3 IUIs wasn't as expensive (or invasive) as IVF. Patience is the hardest thing to maintain with IF.. I couldn't understand why it wasn't happening at the time but now when I look back, our twins came along at the perfect time - even if it wasn't what we wanted at the time.
whatever you decide, good luck
Thanks ladies for all this advice. Our IVF would be covered by insurance. I would like to do the 3rd IUI but I feel so impatient! I guess that isn't reason enough to go through such an invasive procedure, though.
I am also starting a new job in 2-3 weeks and having so much anxiety about starting IVF and starting a new job. What if I have crazy side effects of it at work?
We are going to make the decision this week whether to do IUI or IVF but seeing from your responses, I should give the 3rd IUI a chance.
I did 2 rounds of IUI with injects and then moved to IVF. One reason was that it was summer and I was off from work and had the time to do IVF...and if we had done one more IUI and it failed, we wouldn't have had the time away to do IVF.
That being said, our IVF failed and it wasn't until they discovered my clotting disorder and put me on Lovenox that the FET worked. So I think it depends on your diagnosis as well as logistics.
I would probably try the 3rd IUI. It's less invasive and is significanly less expensive. It's worth a shot!
But - I also think it depends on your personal situation and what your IF issues are.
