BM down the drain....

or in this case, out in the trash!!!!

I just had to throw away 124oz of milk (YES I COUNTED!) because it expired. I have an oversupply and only work 2 days a week, so I didn't get through it fast enough. We didn't get our deep freezer until February, so I had to get rid of the milk after 3-4 months. Sucked!

And even though I have plenty left, I promise you I choked up watching DH take it away.... to think of all the minutes I spent pumping... uggggg!

    Oh. my. gosh.  I can't fathom having to do that.  I would probably have cried.  I cried when I had to dump 6 oz. of BM because DS wouldn't take it with the prune juice while he was constipated.  124 oz!?!?!?!  Man alive.

    I can relate... At this point I've thrown away hundreds of bags of BM. It's still hard! Pretty crazy to think of it in terms of GALLONS of milk in the trash!

    I had to do that in February and I was so upset.  Still thinking about it sucks.  I'm sorry you had to do it...at least you still have some more, but yeah all the "wasted" time really hits home.

    I may have to do this as well - SO sad. How long can you keep it in the deep freezer...I know KellyMom says almost a year - SERIOUSLY?!! What are you planning on doing? I still have colostrum in there!

    Ugh, I know I'm going to have to do the same thing...I have quite a bit stashed (not that much thought), but I never need it, so I'm sure I'll dump most of it eventually. I just prefer giving fresh BM if possible, but I like having some in case of emergency.
