I gave birth to Jack on Sept. 1, 2007. I was pretty mentally prepared. All I really wanted was to get rid of the heartburn so I kept telling myself that as soon as this is done...no more heartburn. That is what got me through it, fortunately for me...it didn't take long.
I started dialiated at the beginning of August. My due date was Sept. 12. Each week I dialated more and more. Friday August 31, I went for my normal appt. I was up to 4cm, I was still good, I was still working. That night my husband and I were watching movies and there was nothing, we really wanted to have our little guy that weekend so daddy had an extra day that he didn't have to use towards PTO, at about midnight, we decided to go to bed and though that oh well, wasn't going to tonight, that was alright, well, at about 12:30, I woke up immediately said we have to go to the hospital, I had my first real contraction, we waited for another half hour and they were coming every 3-4 minutes, we had no warning, no contractions at all before then, we drove as fast as we could to the hospital, got there at 1:30am, I was dialated to 7 cm...I had no time for any drugs what so ever...nothing, I didn't even get a tylenol. and I started pushing, and what do you know...at 3:04am Jack Arthur was born. I was known around the hospital as "that girl". The doctors were amazed that it was my first baby and I went so fast. They recommended that for my second I camp out at the hospital. Jack was born 12 days early, he was 7 lbs. 11oz. and 20-3/4 inches long. he was absolutely perfect. I can't wait to have another one...well yes I can.
