sex after c-section

I ended up having to have a c-section after 15 hours of labor. Things just didn't go as planned. DS was just too big for me. It's been 3 weeks now. Silly question for you ladies with c-sections. How long do you have to wait before you can have sex? Poor DH! I know he's waiting very patiently.

    Check with your doctor, but the usual response is "at least six weeks." The reason for this is twofold; 1) your incision needs time to heal, and 2) the introduction of bacteria inside a healing reproductive system could lead to infection.
