Hudson James is here!!

Hudson James was born on Sun 2/10 at 5:58pm weighing 6lbs 12oz and 20" long.

So after being 4 days overdue, early Sat morning around 2am I started having contractions every fifteen minutes apart. I wasn't too sure if it was real or not, but I could not get any sleep as they kept waking me up every time. Around 8am the were five minutes apart lasting 30seconds. DH started to worry and wanted to go to the hospital right then and there. I convinced him to wait a little bit to make sure they were consistent. Finally around 2pm they were getting stronger and around 3 minutes apart so we called the hospital and headed over.

We arrved at the hospital at 2:30 and they checked me and I was only 2c dialted and 80% effaced. I was so dissapointed as they won't admit me until I was 4cm. They decided to wait and see if I would progress further. About three hours later I was still a 2, but they were monitoring the baby and he wasn't being as active as they would have liked so they decided to keep me. They then decided to put me on cervidal to try and soften my cervix. I was on cervidal for 12hours and by the end of the that with little sleep I was only dialted to a 3. By then I was exhausted and so was Dh so the nurses the started me on pitcon to get my contractions stronger since they thiought they weren't lasting long enough (still only 30 seconds). I was in a lot of pain though so i requested the epi as I knew once the pitcon started they were going to get worse. So around 8am Sun morning I got the epi (which didn't hurt at all), it felt so good I didn't feel anything after that and I was able to sleep a little bit.
The nurse checked me again at 11:30 am and i was finally dialted to 5cm. I was so excited and so was DH. Around 2pm the nurse came back telling me she wanted the Doctor to break my water to speed things along, so the Doctor came in and he checked me and we found out my water broke on it's own! He then checked me and said I was fully dialted also! I was like are you sure. He said yep and said I should rest a little bit and see if I felt the urge to push. A few minutes later it felt like I had to poop and I knew this was it. By this time the epi had run out and the nurses didn't want to give me anymore, they were afraid I wouldn't be able push on my own.
Well without the epi the contractions were so intense and so painful I didn't think I would be able to push for long. Well I was still pushing 3 hours later and I didn't think I could last much longer. The nurse finally siad he was crowning and went to get the Doctor. He came in and told me to push a few more times. His head still wasn't coming out, so the Dr decided to cut me which I didn't even realize he did and so 15 minutes later he finally came out. He did come out with umblical cord wraped around his body and was gripping it tightly so DH didn't get to cut it. He also ended up pooping inside of me so they took him right away to get cleaned up and make sure he was ok. I thought I was finally done but still realized I had to push the placenta out. That seemed even more painful but it came out and then the Dr sewed me up.
I finally got to hold after that and he is the most gorgoues baby ever (i am so biased).
We got home from the hospital on Tues and the first couple of nights have been tough but it is getting better. He is BF great wiht no trouble and since my Milk has come in yesterday it has been much easier.
