This might be a gross question, but has anybody taken a mirror to their vagina after giving birth?

I wanted to look at my stitches to check on the healing. My vagina is still open! I was totally freaked out! Is this normal?

I can see a hole and a pink fleshy bump-type thing in the middle. What is it supposed to look like down there and what is normal?

I did, too, and it's scary! Even though my son is 6.5 months old mine is still pretty "open", but where I tore is kinda weird looking and pretty sore still.

I've took a mirror down there after deliverying DS, but I didn't tear. It definitely looked wider than normal though.
