For those of you who did a water birth...

DH and I were having a conversation and he was wondering about the "cost" of a waterbirth.  Currently, my insurance covers L+D completely but we didn't know if they would cover alternative options.  I know my insurance company is the only one who can tell me for sure how much is covered but I'm just curious if any of you had additional charges for this type of service.

    I'm giving birth at a birthcenter and there is no additional fee for water birth. If you are giving birth in a hospital, waterbirth will probably be cheaper, because you are less likely to want interventions, which cost more (epidural, pitocin, etc.). The water makes the contractions easier for some women.
