Gagging on Applesauce?

Our DD just started on solids about 1-2 weeks ago. So far, she's tried sweet potato, avocado and rice cereal. She gagged the first time she ever ate but that's about it.

Yesterday we let her try applesauce for the first time. She gagged and threw up. We felt so bad for her. Could it be the texture of applesauce? Maybe she's not ready for apples? Should we try it again tonight and see?

could be.. our pedi told us to try apples after other fruits because apples are a little more acidic. Try peaches

Was it baby applesauce, or regular applesauce with some texture?

They usually gag because of textures (you'll really see this with finger foods in the beginning). She also might not like it, but keep trying.

It's homemade applesauce so the texture is a little gritty.
