Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

Home from D&C

Thanks for all your kind words ladies. Reading how quick everyone's D&C's were, it took some of the stress off. I was at the hospital for a while, but only because it took forever to finally do my procedure! The D&C only took like 20 minutes total. I don't do well with anesthesia, i tend to get extremely nauseous and puke so they loaded me on meds. Thankfully i haven't puked yet, but stayed in recovery a bit longer just in case.

Did many of you bleed a lot after? My bleeding is light, and i had like one teeny tiny clot. Dr. said i shouldn't bleed a whole bunch, and the nurse said it may be like a period for me.

Anyway, glad this part is over. I'm glad i have this board for the emotional support.

Re: Home from D&C

  • I had my D&C last Thurs and my bleeding is light also.  No clots for me but the dr. said that they are normal.  Hopefully, the nausea will stay away.  The only time I got nauseous was when I took the antibiotic on an empty stomach.

  • I'm glad yours went well today and I hope it made you feel better in some way.

I had mine today too. The doctor told me I might bleed for a week of five days with red blood and a week of five days with brown. He said the first week would be like a period. I bleed a lot the first time I went to the bathroom, but I actually think that was from my bladder since they put a catheter in it. It also hurt a lot to pee the first time too because of it. I haven't really had any bleeding since then. I've had some light cramping and two bouts of slightly more painful cramping, but that's it.

It hurt when i peed the first couple times. Must have been the catheter. I had smaller straight catheter done in the ER last Saturday (a quick one time pass) and it hurt! I can't imagine a big foley catheter. I've also had slight cramping. It was a bit painful right after but i've been taking methergine, and they say that is supposed to help with the cramping. Bleeding is very light right now.

  • right after the procedure I had some light bleeding/clotting and I spotted for close to two weeks after, with a couple of days having none.  I am glad this went "well" for you.

  • Sorry the wait for the procedure was so long.  I forgot to mention that my wait was ridiculous - something like three hours.

Glad you didn't puke.  I haven't bleed much - I just haven't stopped bleeding either.  Mostly spotting but it varies.  I've been trying to take long walks daily in the hopes that some exercise will speed up the bleeding/spotting.

  • Hey Ladies

I had my D&C on Tuesday and have had minor cramping but today I woke up with a bad headache and backache. Is this normal.
