Isaac versus Issac?

Obviously, we haven't picked a boys name and I just started considering this name but, how would you spell this name?

Isaac or Issac?

I naturally spelled it Issac but when I looked into the name a bit more, it seems that Isaac is the "normal" way to spell the name (i.e. that is how it is spelled in the bible, etc). Do you know anyone with this name, if so, how do they spell it?

    Issac, to me, sounds like it would be pronounced like "iss-ack".

    This is exactly what I was going to say.  I love the name Isaac - I wish we could use it!  It's just too close to Zachary though :(

    I've only seen it spelled Isaac.  If it were spelled Issac I would pronounce it is-sack.

    Otherwise, phonetically it'd sound like "Is-sac" (which is just weird).

    I'm pregnant with an Isaac!  A bit of advice on spelling names...my name is Rachelle...and that is pronounced "Rachel."  having a funky spelled first name has been a HUGE pain my whole life.  Go with what you like...but if you're torn...err on the side of the 'normal' spelling :)

    coming from someone with a "misspelled" name (staci instead of stacy) i am more partial to isaac...having to correct the world my entire life is tiring.  being different is definitely a good thing, though, so you just have to settle with one and go with it!

    This. Two s's in a new word make a hissing sound -while Isaac is a name and has a previously established pronunciation. My friend's grandma misspelled her name on her birth cert. form and instead of being Roseann like mom meant, she is Rossann. Drives her nuts on official papers, etc. and she signs her name the way it was originally intended to be spelled on other stuff. She's in the military, so can't quite escape her 'official' name.
