When will your shower be?

I need to give my sisters a date for my shower. How many weeks before EDD is the best time to have a shower? I don't want it to be too early, but then again I want to have time to get the things I still need after the shower. Any thoughts?

I'll be surprised in June with my shower.
I like having about 6-8 weeks after the shower but before LO arrives to make I have everything.
I will have two showers. One will be out-of-town during my 26th week. The other one will be around 34-35 weeks.

In my opinion, a month- 1 1/2 months before your EDD is good timing.
My shower is gonna be June 5th, I'll be 33w3d the day of my shower.
I am having the baby in mid - late August and my showers will be in June/ early July.
But, I am at risk for pre-term labor and want to have them on the early side.

Mine will be May 15 I'll be 30 weeks.
IF I get one when I visit home in May I'll be around 26 weeks. That will be my only visit home while I'm pregnant, so it would be their only chance. (Not that I'm expecting one...)
The one here is sometime in June, so depending on which weekend, I'll be between 29-32 weeks.
I'll be about 33 weeks. I didn't want to do it to late so I still have enough time to buy stuff I will need. Also my friends shower scared me. We planned her shower so it would be when she was 36 weeks. We planned it on a Sunday, Saturday night she called letting us know that her water broke. She didn't have anything ready yet because she was waiting for her shower first.

Not till after the baby arrives. I didn't want one at all, then said I would have an open house meet n greet after LO arrives, but my mom, MIL and best friend are all desperate to have a shower. We're having a post-baby-arrival shower in my mom's apartment's party room. It's an all right compromise; at least I'll be able to escape to the apartment should I / LO need a minute of peace.
In general, I love going to / hosting other people's showers, but absolutely loathe being the center of attention at my own. It's just not for me, but what can you do?!
My BFFs are hosting me a shower one day shy of 37 weeks. It's a bit later than I would have preferred but summer is such a hard time for people and the weekends fill up fast so I am going to keep my legs crossed and hope LO stays put till after.
My sister-in-laws are hosting a meet the baby part for 4 weeks after my due date (once my mum has arrived from overseas). This is really just for my DHs family which is HUGE!
