I always think these stories are interesting...
DH and I met after I had a car accident. I was going home from my parent's restaurant and was about a block from my house, I was in a car accident. There were no injuries. The cop that came out was a real jerk at first. But after the other car left, he was really nice and just started talking. We became friends and he started coming in to eat at my mom's restaurant (I was still working there at the time) with another cop that worked in town. DH was the friend and we hit off and have been together ever since.
It's one of those cliche cop meeting stories. lol.
Re: How did you meet your SO?
After two losses, third time was a charm.

We met at Vikings training camp. Super random. DH was coaching in NC, I was going to school in MN and I was at training camp because I worked at a daycare and we took our kids, he was there because he was in the area for an NCAA meeting and met up with one of his best friends who was recruiting in the area. That friend's brother played for the Vikings so they went to training camp to watch him and to hang out.
Super, super random...

My first initial meting was Freshman year of college at a party. I didn't give him a second glance becuase he had a girlfriend and was at least 5" shorter than me. Then two years later I saw him in a club - he was now single and 5" taller! ha ha. We hung out as friends then started officially dating 4 months later. We have been together ever since (13 yrs)!
Dh and I had worked together for about 2 years before I even really talked to him. Truth be known I actually hated him. He was rude and grumpy and his butt crack was always visible. But then a group of work people went out to a local bar for someone's b-day and I went to talk with a guy I had a crush on and DH was sitting at the same table. We all started talking about horror movies, then the crush walked away and I kept talking to DH.
Turns out when he isn't at work is very nice and funny, and the butt crack problem has since been solved thanks to belts and better fitting pants.
DH and I met online!
I was playing on MySpace at the time, checking out profiles of friends of friends and such. I saw a link to a page that someone was a fan of, called OK Stupid Cupid. The title caught my attention, so I went to check it out. It was a fan group for another website called OKCupid. The site is kind of a combo site...social networking/dating/quizzes/etc. I was checking out the silly quizzes on there, and thought I would put up a profile. When you put a profile up, and answer questions and quizzes, the site will show you "matches" on the main page. It will show percentage of "friend" and "enemy" for people in your area. I logged on one day and it was showing me a "match" - something like 86% friend - of a guy who had just posted a new journal entry. I read it, and immediately was drawn to him. He was online at the moment, so I said "what the hell" and sent him an IM. We ended up chatting on IM all night long. We exchanged phone numbers and the next day after work we talked on the phone from about 5pm until 6am the next morning (when we both had to get ready for work). We kept up the talking on the phone for hours and hours on end for a couple days, then he wanted to meet me in person.
I was so nervous - wasn't really looking to meet someone online, but this guy was awesome! I agreed to meet, but said I had plans to be at the mall with my best friend and her kids, and he could come out there and meet me with them. Explained that I wasn't comfy meeting someone from online by myself the first time. He understood, and wanted to meet still. He met up with us at the mall, hit it off with my best friend and her kids, then they left us alone to sit and chat for a bit. There was no doubt in my mind that he was THE ONE. At the time, he lived about an hour and a half away from me, so for the first few months of our relationship, we talked on the phone a lot! He would come stay at my place a few days a week, and drive to work from there (it was the same distance of a drive from my place to his work or from his place to his work). After dating for 9 months, he asked me to move in with him. I was terrified (I was 31 and had lived alone most of my life! Never lived with a boyfriend before!) to leave my job and friends. He was starting a new job even further away, so I would be moving several hours away from everything I knew,.
He was worth it!
I moved in with him in September 2007, we got engaged June 2008, and married June 2009! Never been so happy in my life!
Wow...that was long. Thanks for reading if you made it this far!

DH and I met my freshman year of college in marching band camp. He was a junior at the time. He played saxophone and I played clarinet. Since I was a freshman, I was an alternate for our pregame show. One day in camp, we were rehearing the pregame drill and I was put in a new spot, that was never supposed to be my spot. That spot just happened to be right next to my DH. He stuck his hand out and introduced himself. He said he thought I was the cutest thing ever. I was wearing a white baseball hate that said "Princess" on it.
Yea so incredibly cool. He has always called me princess b/c of that hat.
After that, I would always look for him around campus and on the concourse. One day, we saw eachother on the concourse over by my dorm. I was headed back from the bookstore after buying a microphone for my computer.....so I could chat with my BOYFRIEND, who went to FSU. He asked if he could come up and install it for me and I said sure. After that, we ended up going to a toga party togther and the rest is history. So was my poor boyfriend at the time, who I met when we were 15 and living in Singapore. We dated for over 3 years, then my hubby came into the picture.
It's kind of cool b/c we are two of the most unlikely people to end up in Alabama. DH grew up in Honduras/Miami and I graduated high school in Singapore. Neither one of us had ever been to alabama before we came to school here. I guess it was just meant to be......
Oh and we got engaged in August 2005 (I graduated that past may and he graduated that past December). We dated all through college and we got married in July 2006. So we have been together going on 10 years.

Totally random... in the picture in your siggy, your DH looks like Prince Henry from the side, who I think is a complete cutie!
My roommate freshman year (who was also a friend from highschool) had a cousin (who is my now DH) who was two years older than us and had a house with 10 other guys. So our first night at college we went to their house because we knew that they could buy us beer.
We became good friends with all the guys and always hung out at their house. DH and I were friends and liked each other but never committed to each other. It took us a year and a half before we "officially" started dating.
and I love going to family parties because I am now cousin-in-law with one of my good friends!
We met in high school in a talent show my freshman year. He was that guy I NEVER would have dated back then. We were soo opposite.
We met up a few years after high school, saw each other every day for a year, and now he's stuck with me
Currently pg with our 1st after 6.5 yrs of IF (thank you IVF)

DH and I met online, way back in 1997 - on AOL. Anyone remember that? Hee Hee
We weren't on a dating site or anything, I just kind of "found him" in the profiles on AOL and we starting IM-ing. We met the next day and that weekend we were planning our honeymoon. Crazy! And almost 12 yrs later...
