2nd Trimester

Headaches?

Literally since the first day of my second trimester I have had slight headahces almost everyday. I got them on and off during the first trimester, but they were rare. Before pregnancy I rarely to never got headaches. Has anyone else been experiencing this? Does it go away? Are you taking Tylenol or drinking a little caffine? Thanks!

Re: Headaches?

  • I just posted this yesterday on my August board.  This has been occuring frequently and daily for me as well.  I drink caffeine everyday (i.e. coffee)  I do take Tylenol Extra Strength as a last resort that does somewhat help.

From what i gathered it could be anything from high b/p, allergies or stress.  My OB appt is this Fri I am definitely mentioning it because he always asks if I am getting headaches.

  • I have had at least one every week...  Before I was pregnant I would only get one maybe once a month around AF.  I haven't taken any Tylenol or drank caffeinne, luckily my husband is a chiropractor so he can usually work it out.  I also will use ice packs on the back of my neck which works wonders on headaches.

  • I got them more in first trimester than second, but that's probably because my doctor told me to have a little caffine daily and I think that helped.  I usually have a small caffinated coffee or mostly decaf with a little caffinated and that helps.  Sometimes iced tea or a coke helps too.  I take Tylenol when it's really bad, but I haven't had to much since I added a little caffine.
  • I get headaches almost every single day and I can't find anything to make mine go away. Tylenol doesn't help at all and I haven't really drunk any caffeine this whole time. I wish I knew how to make them go away.
  • I've been getting them for a few weeks now and I'm still trying to figure out what the cause is. For me, sitting in a dark room for a few minutes does wonders.
  • Sorry to hear you all have been getting headaches too, but it makes me feel a little better. I have really low BP, so it shouldn't be that and I'm not stressed. I was thinking maybe it was my sinuses, but I have been cleaning out my nasal passages with a nettle pot for the past few days and it hasn't helped. I like the natural route, so I will try the cold pack... wish I had a chiropractor too. I have had my DH give me head massages and they help some, but mostly just while he is giving them. A small amount of caffiene(quarter to half a cup of coffee) or  500mg of tylenol works for me, but I really don't want to have to do this everyday for the rest of the pregnancy. Please say they go away soon!

  • Oh Lord, this was me! I finally had to call my OB and ask for some other med's because nothing was working. They gave me some with a little bit of caffine but still those didnt work. I have been off of caffine since October so I there is no was it was that. I stll get them randomly, so hopefully yours will jsut GO AWAY :)

  • I had them 3-4 times a week in first tri, and my OB said I couldn't do anything besides Tylenol and some caffeine.  I started seeing a chiropractor and it helped immensely!
