I know I have asked before, and I thought I saved it but can anyone share an easy but delicious frosting recipe please?

Thanks!

Re: Frosting recipes

  • I love the cream cheese frosting recipe for these cupcakes. Do you have cream cheese down there?

  • I have a couple: Sorry there are no exact measurements:

Make vanilla or chocolate pudding, and fold in a container of whipped cream (or you can whip your own cream)

1/2 stick of butter soften  add about a 1/4 cup of powdered sugar and add milk a splash at a time till you get to the right consistancy.  You can play with the powdered sugar and the milk amounts till you get it right.

  • here is a super tasty easy cream cheese recipe

    Cream Cheese frosting:
    8 ounces cold cream cheese
1 stick unsalted butter, firm but not cold
    1/8 teaspoon salt
3 ? cups powdered sugar, sifted
    ? teaspoon vanilla

Combine butter, salt, and cream cheese, 2-3 minutes on med-low.

Reduce to low, add the sugar and beat until incorporated.

Add vanilla and beat just until incorporated. Do not over mix.

Add milk 1 teaspoon at a time if needed for consistency

    and my favorite!

    Dark Chocolate frosting

    Frosting:
10 ounces bittersweet chocolate , chopped
1 pound unsalted butter , at room temperature
1 pound plus 8 ounces powdered sugar
    1/8 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
    1/2 cup sour cream

    Ganache:
    ? cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into 2 pieces
8 ounces semisweet chocolate, finely chopped
    ? teaspoon vanilla

For frosting: Melt and cool chocolate (until just slightly warm). Beat butter until light and fluffy. With mixer on low speed, gradually add powdered sugar. Add salt, vanilla and sour cream and mix until very smooth. Add chocolate and mix until just incorporated.

*Don't over-whip and add too much air into the frosting. The consistency should be rich and dense, like ice cream!

For ganache: heat cream and butter until small bubbles form. Pour over chocolate, let sit for 30 seconds, then stir until smooth. Add vanilla. Let stand at room temperature until thick. Stir in 1/2-3/4 of the ganache into the frosting.

    and a easy buttercream

I don't mind sharing at all! I have more time consuming ones but this is a great, super fast vanilla.

    2 sticks butter, soft
    1 pound powdered sugar, sifted
    2 teaspoons vanilla
    pinch salt
    ? cup heavy cream

Cream butter and sugar on low. Add remaining ingredients and beat for 5 minutes

  • If you can get marshmallow fluff there, this is a good one.. I wish I could remember who on this board gave it to me.  I love it!!

Here's the recipe I used.   It frosted about 40 cupcakes.  With a lot of frosting on each if you rememmber how I did them.

1 container (16 oz) Marshmallow Fluff
3 sticks unslated butter, room temp and cut into 1" pieces
    1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 c confectioner's sugar, plus additional sugar if necessary
Spoon Marshmallow Fluff into a large bowl.  Beat with an electric mixer on low.  Gradually add the butter pieces, beating well after each addition, until smooth.  Add the vanilla extract and the confectioner's sugar.  Scrape the bowl well to incorporate.  Add more confectioner's sugar, if necessary, to adjust the texture

  • Oh my goodness, if sweet & sugary stuff didn't make me throw up I'd totally be making a huge bowl of frosting right now. Saving these recipes for later when my aversion to sweets lets up!

  • this is my favorite frosting recipe!

    https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/gale-gand/quick-vanilla-buttercream-frosting-recipe/index.html

Except I use about 4-5 tablespoons of whipping cream to make it fluffier =)   Also make sure you use clear vanilla extract or else your frosting will have a yellow tinge...

*also this frosting would not work well for cake balls if thats what you were looking to use it for.
