WTH are they for? I don't get them? They are on my "please don't do this at my shower list"...next to any games....guess the diameter of the mom......rubber duckies in blue punch........callimg me "mommy"......clothes line with onesies......and corsages.

Thankfully my list can be kept to myself since my tasteful gay is in charge.

Re: Don't attack. I hate diaper cakes.
Diaper cakes serve a very important purpose... without them, we wouldn't be able to tilt our heads and ask "WTH???" And then where would we be? The same with the 'guess the candy bar in the diaper' and 'TP around the mom's belly'. Without those things, we wouldn't have anything to wonder 'what the he77 is wrong with some people' about!
What Are Your Thoughts on Tap Dancing Penguins?
They are bundled together so you can use them. And the ones you order...the diapers are no good! They are stiff and rough. I'm not a fan.
The way I make my diaper cakes you roll each diaper individually and put a rubber band around it. Then you put a large rubber band around the ring of diapers. They can easily be used again.
Personally I like them. They are cute and add some decoration to the party. My sister made one for my party and it's a baseball theme. It's super cute. Everyone has their own preferences though.
My hosts are supplying the best game that will include everyone and keep everyone entertained for hours without any concern for rules or regulations: Full Premium Bar and Margarita Station.
Should be fine without the candy turds.
Dude, your SIL is crazy. Diaper Cakes came around during the cloth diaper era. Granted, it might be too expensive to make one with cloth, but that's how they *started*.
My Blog
I will try to explain my side of the diaper cake debacle. I threw a shower for my cousin and made one huge and three small diaper cakes and used them as decoration. Each diaper is rolled into a tube and secured with a rubber band. That way they are still usable. She got like 4 packages of diapers out of the deal. Then I decorated it with all kinds of cute little things like onesies, teething rings, pacifiers, toys, etc. I think they turned out really cute and got a ton of compliments on them.
So, to answer your question in the most long-winded fashion possible, I think it's just a different way to display the gift of diapers and other random stuff. Maybe it's considered ugly or tacky to some, but it doesn't seem to be here.
In an effort to redeem some class and/or style points, you may be glad to know I did NOT do a clothesline with onesies, nor did we play the TP around the belly or the candy bar in the diaper games.
She's not very good at thinking out of the box .... I have a feeling people are going to buy us landfill diapers anyway, even though I've been saying for 2 years we are going to CD. Oh, well. That's what returns are for.
