Hey ladies! We got a cheap vacuum last year when we got married and now we need to get one that is better. I'm looking for one that is very lightweight and that has an attachment to make for easy stairway cleaning. One that will help with my allergies (dust, etc.)
TIA!
Re: NBR - Recommend your Vacuum!
BFP #2 - 12/9/09 After being on bedrest for 10 weeks due to TTTS and hospital bedrest for 4 weeks due to PPROM, my sticky babies are here! Born at 32 weeks!!
We got the purple Dyson for our wedding... the special allergy/pet hair model. It is amazing!! Expensive, but worth every penny.
They usually have 10% Best Buy coupons in those address change packets at the post office, and Best Buy matches competitor's prices.
DH and I got the purple dyson as a wedding gift and LOVE IT!!! We would have gotten it ourselves if we didnt receive it as a gift. I have a lab that SHEDS and it works great on getting all the dog hair up.
There is an Oreck store nearby that I was thinking of looking at.
another vote for dyson animal.
they are pricey but worth it. take a 20% off coupon to bed bath and beyond to save some $$ on it.

I would definitely recommend going by. The vacuum I got is self propelled and soooo light... they demonstrate how it can pick up all sorts of stuff for you, etc.
I have the same Eureka with the power paw attachment and I LOVE it, it is the best I have ever used. Picks up all the fur from my *** hound and she seems to shed a lot! I had been using my older (4 yrs old so not too old) vac (that I spent about $300 on) every single day on my carpet and I only have one carpet the rest is hardwood so it wasnt overused, and it didnt seem to be doing such a hot job, so i got the Eureka, man the first time I used it it picked up SO much hair and dirt and that was after using my other vac everyday. The carpet looked brand new after one use with the Eureka
Dyson DC17 Animal.
Makes vacuuming the couch SO easy - and the majority of our floors are hardwood and it works perfect on those as well. Cuts my floor/couch cleaning time in half.
I have the regular yellow Dyson (not the ball) and I freaking LOVE it. It was worth every.single.penny. I've had it for almost 3 years now.
You can often find them at Big Lots (refurbished) for about $100 less than Target, etc.
me too! and i love it, although anything is better then the 15 year old peice of crap we used to have..
