Whenever I finish a really good book, it is like I go through a period of mourning wishing that I wasn't done with the book. In fact, sometimes I start to slow down in reading when I get closer to the end so that I can have more time to enjoy it. I just fall in love with the characters and dialogue and want it to go on and on and on and wonder what will happen next.
Right now, I'm just torturing myself by reading a book of short stories by one of my favorite authors (Dennis Lehane). That means I go through the mourning experience every day or more.
Good news, though, is that the new Chelsea Handler book (Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang) just came out on my Kindle, so I will have a fun one to jump to next.

Ha ha! Me too! Was it the Other Boleyn Girl movie that got you started? Oh... and sorry to be nitpicky, but it was Henry VIII, not VII. I NEVER had any interest in that period before, and then I got hooked... especially after getting roped into the Tudors on TV.
Oh good! I can't wait to start it. Her other books made me laugh so hard that I thought I would pee myself. What I don't understand, though, is why I don't like her TV show. I find her books hilarious but her show... not so much.
My blog: Making Me Mom
oh no! I love her show but I love the roundtable the most!
I also like to read a series for this reason.
My favorite was the shopaholic series. Although I was SO upset when I finished the series. I actually didn't read for awhile because I was totally just bummed! It also makes it hard for me to get into other books by the same author though if I do this because I want the characters to be the other ones I loved!
I often find if I have a good line up waiting for me I handle the end of the book easier.

Yup it is Henry the VII, that's what I get for not proof reading LOL. No, it wasn't the movie that got me into it. I've always been fascinated with that time period. I go to the Renaissance festival in my area every year. My BFF was reading The Six Wives of Henry VII, and raved about it. So, it started with that. I never had Showtime so I never got to see the Tudors. I did finally catch up on in on Netflix this winter.
Henry VIII, not Henry VII... the 8th... not the 7th. V + III = 5 + 3 = 8
I do this. I decided to read more this year, to take my mind off of IF.
Well, I started with the Twilight series (had to find out what all of the hype is about). I just finished the 3rd book and have put off the 4th book, knowing after I read it, it is over.
I was that way with Harry Potter.
I am also reading a book on the Financial Crisis. I am having a hard time getting into the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
I may try the Henry VIII book you mentioned.
Gah! I did it again. I know its Henry the 8th. I just keep leaving off the last I. I swear I had three of them there I think the bump keeps eating them hahaha.
