Pittsburgh Babies

hello all

My husband and I just got married in January and have just found out we are expecting our first baby. I am only 5 weeks along but we are relocating from Florida to Pittsburgh the first week in April so I was also looking for obgyn/hospital references. Also any information about where a good place to move to would be nice. We are going to rent a house but we don't know what areas are good. Any thoughts on Monroeville?

Re: hello all

  • I personally would not live in Monroeville, nowhere East of the city.  Traffic sucks in that direction if your commute is to downtown.

I have lived in Pgh for 25 years so I can give you any info you want.  Feel free to email me at wsittig572 at aol.  Hope to hear from you!

  • Magee Women's Hospital associates are great. I'm 22 weeks and all staff have been great. try looking to the South Hills... good place to be raise and to raise

  • I'd highly recommend Womencare Assocaites; they are affiliated with UPMC Magee Women's Hospital and all their doctors are excellent. (I saw them for gyne services as well as OB currently).

I'm not a huge fan of Monroeville; east of the city is extremely congested to get anywhere, and IMO, there is a lot more violence out that way. I'd suggest looking into the north hills area or out west near Robbinson. (Having grown up in the south hills, as much as I love the area, it is just as congested as out east near Monroeville IMO).

    Good luck!
