Planning a vacation with 7 month old

This summer we want to drive down south to visit family in North Carolina.  We'd like to make several stops and stay at different places since driving in a car for 12 hours is not my idea of fun.  Any thoughts on infant friendly places to take our DD? TIA!

    Isn't colonial williamsburg or busch gardens on the way?  I don't know how kid friendly they are, but most places have a kid area.  I would check online for any zoos or aquariums in the states you're passing through.  Hope this helps.
