PSA St Luke's Roosevelt

I read an older post asking about SLR - I delivered there because that's where my Dr. delivers and I love her. I had a great experience - nurses were great, very friendly staff, etc.

I couldn't afford the ridiculous $750/nt for the private room and had to go with the shared room. What a nightmare. My roommate was nice enough, but loud as anything and had a million visitors talking loudly on their cell phones all day. This was the same experience of two friends of mine at SLR as well, so I don't think it's uncommon.

There is a lounge on the floor that is hardly used, so DD and I spent lots of time in there.

OH - if you do have a shared room, bring clorox wipes with you - it's insane that you have to share a bathroom with another pp woman and you can't be too careful (this was the advice of an L&D nurse).

  • Thanks for the info.  I'll be delivering there in August & I just don't think we're going to blow the $750/night.  Crossing my fingers we don't have an A-hole roommate like that.

  • I'm going in on the 25th - I'll try to remember to post my experience!  I'm forgetting SO much lately though!

  • well, I delivered at Methodist last year and it was the same thing, so i dont think your experience is exclusive to St. Lukes.

I had a rude neighbor who had even ruder visitors who's kids pi$$ed all over the shared toilet and the rude parents who were visiting my roommate did not clean it up till I bitched them out for it, and the whole time, the parents were cursing at me for complaining about their kids.
  • Do you know how far in advance you have to secure a private room?  There is no way I'm sharing a bathroom with someone else with all of the **TMI** juices and nastiness that will be coming out.

I'm delivering there at the end of January.  I'm going to take a tour in September to see what it's like.
