Needless to say, he got an earful from me.
"Why don't you adopt? My cousin, sister, aunt, friend got pregnant once they sent in the papers!"

IVF #1-4=BFN IVF #5=BFP! U/S on 5/3 revealed TWINS!

"have you charted?! I did and it worked! That's all you need!" I have 41 charts in FF - apparently it didn't work.

Even thought I've explained the entire situation to my mom, every once in a while she throws out "if you would just relax...." I politely say thank you but I really wonder if she's paying attention!!
I don't really get upset at what people who don't know the situation say. I mean, why would they know differently? And it's always a well meaning comment. I just nod, smile, make a polite thank you, and change the subject.
TTC since October 2007 DX: MFI
#1 & #2: Fall 2009 - 2 rounds of Clomid - BFN's
#3: April 2010: IVF w/ ICSI - BFP but then....blighted ovum, D&C 5/26/10
#4: 8/27/10 - FET = BFN
#5: FET #2 - 10/28/10, 2 embryos... BFN
#6: IVF w/ ICSI & AH ER 3/5/2011; 6-day trx 2 blasts 3/11 BFP!!! HB @ 6weeks but it was gone a few days later. D&C 4/8/11
#7: IVF w/ ICSI & AH ER 8/29/11; 6 day trx 2 blasts, BFP!! (3 totsicles too) HB seen at 7 weeks, but was gone at 8.5 weeks. D&C 10/14/11 HEARTBROKEN!!
#8 FET - 4/6/12, 1 embryo.....

Well first of all as you all know these treatment aren't cheap, the stress takes a toll on your emotions and your body and after you been going through treatments for over a year, the last thing you want to hear is
"give it time it will happen"
"You need to stop trying and then it will happen."
"Wear a sexy outfit, get drunk, and have sex."
"Once you decide to adopt you'll get pregnant."
"Gee, I sure I hope I don't end up like you."
"To bad you don't have my eggs...I look at someone and get pg."
I could go on forever!!!
"Studies show that stress can make you not get pregnant" Umm really? Because the studies I've seen say that stress has ZERO affect on ability to conceive but it does increase for couples struggling with IF.
"Just forget about it and have fun" At this point we both hate sex so you can take your own advice and go F yourself!
My all time favorite "If you relax, it'll happen"
From DH's mom "Does he take vitamin's, maybe that'll fix his sperm"
and also from DH's Mom "Are you sure it's not just all your infertility, because we are very fertile on my side of the family, I don't think it could be him...".....I've explained to her it's both of us, but oh no it couldn't be anyone with her gene's fault! yea, I wanna punch her....

Um, yeah. I've enjoyed my time. Now I'm ready for them. Just because you wish you didn't have kids doesn't mean I don't WANT them. *sigh*
Oh yeah, and this one...
"I bet you're having fun trying, though, huh?"
Um, no, actually. On the months when we have to try naturally because of conflicts with the RE's office, the last thing in the world I usually want to do is BD on demand. Not to mention the number of times when we have actually been able to do IUIs. Yeah, I'm having loads of fun, carrying my DH's sperm in between my boobs, then with my legs up in the air & having a dr. down there with a catheter.
Yeah. Super fun.
I have a friend who insists that we need to wake up in the middle of the night to have sex...something about body temperature. Apparently the fact that my DH has no sperm doesn't matter.
And for additional context, this advice came from a 30 year old virgin.

My all-time favorite came from my MIL's best friend. Mind you that we have been very open with our IF struggles....
"You should hang your husband's pants on the right side of your bed. It worked for me."
I did actually say to her..."Really? So do you think that will unblock my tubes as well?"

My favorite lately...(from 5 different patients in the last 2 weeks, right after BFN)..."how's your little one?" My response has been "I don't have a little one yet," and then they try to convince me that they saw me when I was pregnant!
I'm sure they're getting me mixed up with a PA who moved to another state almost 3 years ago.
"have you tried tracking your fertile days?" Yes...the problem is that I don't have those.
"Your parents really need grandchildren...why don't you give them some?"
I heard this from my mom last Friday when we got our BFN. Thanks....
Well Here's one my M.I.L gave me a BOOK to read on women's heath secrets and she also told me that i should read it & also that I should drink more high fat milk.

my mom told me that it will happen when its meant to be - she has tried to be supportive -- but i finally said mom, really, you have NO idea what it is like to want something so badly and have everyone around you have it and you cant. she said that she really didnt know how emotional it has been for me, for us.
