Feel guilty...am I a terrible momma?

Ok, so DH snores...LOUDLY!!! I have not been using my earplugs to sleep since we got DS home, because I am afraid I won't hear him, but last night I was just SO exhausted and really needed some sleep! I wore my earplugs, and did get some sleep, but am worried that I didn't always hear DS when he was crying. DH wouldn't hear it if a freight train rolled through our bedroom. The longest stretch he went without me getting up to feed him was only 3 hours, but I have this uncontrollable feeling of guilt not knowing if he was up crying for hours at some point and I just didn't hear! Am I a terrible Momma?!

  • I don't think so.  But I might be a terrible wife.  I kick my snoring DH to the sofa.  :)

  • No. You are not a terrible momma.  A better rested one but not a terrible one.

This, if you only went 3 hours without getting up to check on him I'm sure he was fine.

  • Thanks ladies. Your responses are reassuring! I can't kick DH to the couch, because he snores every night and always has. Although I do kick him quite often. I'd rather just wear the earplugs than not sleep next to him. It was never a problem before DS arrived, and I actually get really good sleep when I wear them. Hopefully the guilty feeling goes away!!
