Daycare - how much?

I live in Boston and my friend who is a stay at home mom will be watching my baby since I am going back to work. I have no idea what the going rate is for childcare. I have tried calling around but all the places want me to come in and meet with them before they disclose their prices. I am just looking for a ballpark figure. I want to be fair and pay her what I would pay a local childcare provider. She will have the baby 5 days a week for 6.5 hours a day. Anyone willing to tell me what you pay?

you are lucky to have your friend watch ur baby i pay daycare 288 a week and where we live thats the cheapest going rate.

I pay $67/day or $335 per week for an in home center

We've been doing a ton of research and full time for 5 days a week is running anywhere from $1350-$2100. Since you're only having 6.5 hours a day I would think somewhere in the neighborhood of $8.5/hr would be good...
