I'm at Mt. Auburn and I was a little diappointed with my first appointment- I didn't feel like I was being heard (they didn't care about my ovulation date) and it didn't seem like they really cared to give a comprehensive overview of what's to come. Also, they won't give me an u/s until 18 weeks. The mid-wife also didn't seem very knowledgeable about PNVs.
Should I stay and if I do, is there a midwife/OBGYN/doula I should request?
Are there any other hospitals in the area that you'd recommend or should I stick to this one b/c it's the closest? Thanks!
Re: Which hospital/OBGYN/mid-wife would you recommend?
Thanks ladies, how far away do you live from your hospitals? Does it make a big difference?
I'm just so annoyed that they keep going by the date of my last period and I know for sure that my ovulation date was much later than the 14 days (23 days to be exact) they're basing the due date on.
Are there any hospitals in the area that offer the 3-D ultrasound?
I live in Waltham and it takes about 15 - 20 minutes to get to the hospital door to door. I have had a couple of ultrasounds at St. E's and usually the technician will sneak a peak with the 3-D ultrasound when doing the normal ultrasound. I have gotten a couple of good 3D face pics.
Have you had an early ultrasound to confirm due date? My dr calculated due date based on LMP and then confirmed with an early ultrasound. (I have my first one at 6 wks).
I gave birth at mt auburn with the midwife group (midwives only, no doc) and it was a great experience.
I saw Sharon and Robyn and really liked them both.
