Did anyone deliver here? I've heard great things about their midwives, but I also heard that they are overcrowded and that you may wind up sharing a delivery room.
i posted a reply on the 0-6 board...but i'll definitely add you will NOT share a delivery room, and it's highly unlikely you'll share a recovery room. we had our baby when it was packed and still had a private room.
I had a great experience here and I highly doubt you would share a delivery room. In PP recovery, there were 18 private rooms and 2 doubles, but those only got used when it was full, which I think is rare. I had a private room when I was there and also stayed in a double when DS was readmitted for jaundice a couple of days later. I would have preferred a private, but a double wasn't that bad, and even though there were a bunch of empty rooms, those were saved for women coming out of L&D.
I delivered there with the midwives and was very happy with the care and facilities.
You will never share a delivery/labor room, but they have a couple double postpartum rooms. It was fairly busy when I was there, but no one was sharing that I'm aware of.

You won't share a delivery room, there is small chance (according to the Doc's) you would share a recovery room. They told us that in late spring/early summer is busiest and other times it was extremely unlikely that you would share a room. To give you an idea, DS was born in June and there was only 1 other person laboring at the same time as me - so there were a ton of empty delivery rooms. Recovery rooms were almost full though..
Anyway, I had a fine experience at Mt. Auburn at L&D. I have nothing to compare to it, but the nurses were nice, and I love my OB and the Dr. who delivered my baby was also great.
