Nanny Search

We are looking for a nanny or a daycare for an infant starting in Sept. for long days Mon, Tues, Wed.  Any ideas on where to start looking?  I would prefer a nanny, can you recommend how you found yours?!?!  TIA!

Re: Nanny Search

  • I know that a lot of people look on craigslist.
One thing is to look for prior child care experience and how long they have been working in the child care field.
Also, try to find someone who is looking to be in the child care field as a career and not just some student looking for a job, they tend to be more dedicated.
However, the best way to tell is to interview and ask for references, especially from other families they have worked for.
I work at a day care and this is the overall rule of thumb the parents use
  • We used seaside nannies (seasidenannies dot com) and found a fabulous nanny.  I highly recommend them!!!

The owner was able to find someone for me part time and she did all the hard stuff (background checks, fingerprinting, etc).
