Dear Vacationing Filter, I love you!

So we celebrated Easter with the ILs on Saturday- breakfast, hang out at the house etc.

They said a couple of things that just pushed my buttons, but the final straw came and I just said something along the lines of "wow, that is really rude, I can't believe you just said that."  Then FIL said "I think we should leave".  I said, "I think that's a great idea.  Happy Easter!"  Dh high fived me later on.  What a weekend.

    Haha, nice! I think I surprised everyone at the dinner table when I said, "How about you save your horror stories for after I have a great, natural birth?" Stick out tongue

    lol I understand I am really worried as to what I would end up saying to my MIL since my filter is lacking more and more as the days pass, but knowing her she will blame it on my hormones or something.

    Holy crap!  My FIL would beg and grovel for apology because his wife would make him do so.  LOL My MIL would just leave and complain about for years.

    My brother (and SIL) have been...what's a nice way of putting this...jerks ever since Christmas. When my sister found out I was pregnant she said, "You could totally go off on him and blame it on the hormones!" :o) I love my sis so much! 

    I have (so far) been keeping my filter in place. Although, it helps that I haven't seen them but once since Christmas. And only talked on the phone with my brother a couple times. He prefers to use FaceBook for communication. *rolls eyes*

    Way to go! I doubt I could be so direct with ILs but it all depends on the situation.

    I struggled to keep my filter in place this past week when my MIL and FIL were visiting, but I did because it is such a touchy issue with DH. I am impressed and good for you!
